Summary[]

Witnessing the drama engulfing the Mitchell household, Derek seizes every opportunity he can to take control of Phil's empire. Meanwhile, Ray returns to the Square.

Ben's slept in the Arches. Derek acts kind - talking to Ben and buying him breakfast before leaving with Ben's keys. Derek drops in to R&R and sees Shirley and Heather unpacking alcohol. Jay arrives at the Arches to find Derek there. Derek soon learns that Ben grassed on Phil. Doubts planted in his mind by Derek, Jay reminds Shirley they're not really Mitchells, but Shirley insists they should stick together, keep the businesses running. Alerted by Jane, Ian finds Ben. Ben admits he sent all the letters to Phil. Blaming Phil, Ian insists Ben's coming to live at the Beales'. Derek visits Phil. Phil initially dismisses Derek's offer to keep his businesses and family going. Derek knows all about Phil's dodgy dealings, and says it would be a crime if everything Phil had built up fell to bits before he got to court. Agreeing to a partnership, Phil shakes Derek's hand.

Ray wants to take Morgan out, Bianca refuses so Ray cooks for the family instead. Morgan and Tiffany aren't impressed by the fish, salad and couscous. When Ray reveals he has another daughter, Sasha, Bianca tells him to go; from now on they do things her way.

When Lucy reveals she's staying in Walford, Ian enlists her to work at the chip shop.

Lauren's first day at the salon is a disaster when she insults a client. Tanya feigns excitement when Jane reveals she's accepted Gethin's job offer. When Jane later confides her doubts, Tanya's thrilled, mistakenly assuming Jane decided to stay in Walford. She admits she doesn't think she'd have coped if Jane left.

Kat's gone to look after Charlie, who's had a stroke. She's taken Tommy and Alfie quickly follows with Shenice, after asking Patrick to manage the Vic and employing Ray as a barman and cook.
