Summary[]
Heather Trott faces the toughest day of her life as money shortages, a desperate visit to her mother and an altercation with Shirley all lead to terrible tragedy.

Morgan breaks the wheel on George's pushchair. Heather's furious and takes his 50p pocket money, angering Carol. Heather leaves George alone in the flat and sets out to find her mother and ask for money, giving her last coin to a homeless man on the way. Queenie's not at her flat, a neighbour reveals she moved away years ago. Panicking, Heather rushes back to George. She packs a bag, takes George and gives him to Darren. Returning to the flat, she finds her cleaning money and an eighties tape pinned to the door with a note asking her to come to R&R. Carol and Morgan return George's, fixed, pushchair and Carol reassures Heather she's not a bad mother. Heather plugs in her electricity key. She plays Shirley's tape. At R&R Shirley's prepared an eighties night for Heather. Shirley's angry when Heather doesn't turn up, heads to her flat and bangs on the door. There's no answer. Inside, Heather's slumped in her armchair. |
