Whitney's defiant attitude and make-up enrages Tony. He reminds her not to test him, and hisses that the special little girl he once knew has turned out ordinary. He packs a holdall and plans to leave. Ronnie bribes Danielle to snoop about in the Vic. She's sure that Archie's hiding her mail. Danielle gets caught in the act, but manages to retrieve an invitation to a school reunion. Jack's pleased to announce that the move to France is on. He urges Tanya to keep quiet about it - they can't afford to let Max know. Meanwhile, Lauren's anxious that Whitney and Peter are becoming too close. Max is concerned about Callum and Stacey's attraction. Callum tells Max to mind his own business, and Stacey's furious when Max warns her to steer clear of Callum - he has no right to lecture her. Stacey can't find the right moment to talk to Bradley about his plans to start a family. Dot fusses around them as Bradley frets about his illness and his upcoming job appraisal. Yolande berates Dot for ruining her life. Not content with trying to get the Minute Mart closed down, Dot's complained to the vicar about Yolande's plan to sing a pop song at the Harvest Festival. Dot's shaken. Lauren talks to Max about her fears, but storms off when she smells alcohol on his breath. She decides to confront Whitney, but Tony answers the door. She appreciates him taking her concerns seriously. Stung by Pat's gripes about Tony's laziness, Bianca blurts out a proposal of marriage. Cornered, Tony accepts. Whitney listens in torment.
