Summary[]

The Jacksons pull together when they have to make a big decision about Wellard. Ronnie's attempts to get back at Archie lead her to question her life in Walford.

Wellard's off his food and the kids are worried. Tiffany tries to cheer him up by singing to him, to no avail. Bianca tries to dismiss their worries, and heads off to work.

After a night on the Slaters' sofa, Ronnie convinces Roxy that they should pool resources with Sean and rent a flat together. Roxy's dubious but promises to talk to Sean. Ronnie delights in informing Archie of the plan.

Wellard takes a turn for the worse, and Bianca begs Denise to drive them to the vet. The pair get talking and realise they've got much in common, from loser boyfriends and troublesome kids, to heartache and bereavement. The vet breaks it to Bianca that Wellard hasn't got long left. He's too old to operate on, and he's in pain. He suggests the kindest thing to do is to put Wellard to sleep, but Bianca insists that her kids need to say goodbye to him.

After flat hunting all day, Ronnie's crestfallen to hear that Roxy's had a change of heart. Peggy and Archie have offered Sean a job, and invited them both to live in the Vic. Ronnie's upset, but it's not Roxy she's angry with.

Wellard returns home for the last time. While Ricky and Bianca reminisce about his eventful life, the kids say goodbye to their faithful friend. Tiffany gently cuddles him and says, "I think he just wants to sleep, mum."

Ronnie visits the Vic to say bye to Roxy - she's off to Ibiza. When Archie sneers at her plans, Ronnie calmly removes her locket and puts it in his hand. When he told her that her baby's dead, it killed a part of her, but set the rest free.

The vet arrives to put an end to Wellard's pain. Ricky takes the kids into the kitchen where they wait, in tears. After the vet gently administers the injection, Wellard rests his head on Bianca's lap and goes to sleep for the final time.
