Summary[]

Keith's actions shock everyone as the Square's residents rally to free Dawn and Mickey from their burning house. Bianca worries about her kids as Jack and Tanya reach a new understanding.


The 'Best of British' celebrations are in full swing when an explosion brings the Square to a standstill. Flames rage and smoke billows from the Millers' house. Pandemonium quickly ensues. Trapped in an upstairs bedroom with Summer, Mickey and Dawn are frantic. Jase calls Dawn from his mobile and learns that the 'Jenny' he was working for was May. Jase decides that it's most important they get Summer down. Mickey successfully passes Summer out of the window to Jase, before falling unconscious. Despite an ankle injury, Dawn is able to push Mickey onto a makeshift crash mat. But Dawn is still trapped, and now silent. With no sign of the fire brigade, things are looking bleak for Dawn. The Square watch in disbelief as Keith rushes into the inferno. After an eternity he re-emerges heroically with Dawn. She's rushed straight to hospital.

The fire re-opens old wounds for Zainab, but she's powerless to prevent her kids from helping the rescue effort. Later, Shabnam realises that the shamed woman caught in a fire in Pakistan was actually her mum.

Bianca's distraught when she can't locate her kids. She turns on Ricky when he reveals their whereabouts. Later, when she's calmed down, she rounds them all up and spoils them. She's thankful they're safe and out of harm's way.

In hospital, Mickey laments his inability to help Dawn. But it's okay, she's regained consciousness. Still distressed, Dawn enquires about May. Keith assures her that she and Summer are safe. May is dead.

Oblivious to events outside, Jack, Tanya and the girls lark around in R&R. Jack unwittingly upsets Abi, but soon makes amends. Later, in a locked toilet, Abi secretly texts from her mum's phone. It's a message to Max - "Come home."
