Summary[]
While Jack and Roxy try to pick up a broken Ronnie, a familiar face re-appears on the square and manages to wrap the men of Walford around her little finger. Minty's dreams are shattered when Hazel tells him he isn't going to be a daddy.
|
Billy's shocked when a flash car nearly knocks him over in the market, and a young blonde tumbles from the back seat - it is Clare Bates. Prospective dad Minty couldn't be happier as he makes a fuss over Hazel. Later, he asks Heather to keep Hazel busy today - he's got a surprise in store, and enlists Peggy to help. Gutted by Jack's infidelity, Ronnie mopes around the Vic - she can't face going back to R&R. Roxy promises to collect her things from the club, and avoids mentioning Jack's earlier attempted visit to the Vic to apologise. Clare's on the look-out for a friendly face and some free cash, but gets short shrift from Garry and Jane in the café. Later, Ian's entranced by Clare's charms and invites her in. Clare nicks £20 when his back's turned. Shabnam goes to her mum after finding a pile of final demands at the Post Office, and offers her a wad of cash. Zainab doesn't want her money, just the truth - she's found Shabnam's passport application. After blanking her calls, Jack finally listens to a message from Selina - she's off to France today. He gets there too late to say bye to Penny. Selina makes it clear she's out of his life for good, and warns him to look after Ronnie. Dot's delighted to find Clare at the Beales' and takes her home. Clare's reluctant to hang around, but changes her tune when Dot mentions how well Ian's doing. She beadily eyes his business card and agrees to stay. Ignoring Heather's protests, Hazel marches off to find Minty. She's shocked to find him in the Vic with a pile of baby gear. Hazel runs out and admits to Minty she's not pregnant and never will be - she's menopausal. |
