Summary[]
Pat finds help from a stranger as she continues her search. Dawn meets a new man and Garry turns somewhere else for comfort.
|
Garry chats to Summer about his dead-end life, while Dawn's off shopping. She's admiring an outfit when the shop owner, Matt, bumps into her, spilling her drink. He gives her the dress, and they flirt over coffee. Pat explains to Len that there's something important she has to do in Worthing. On route they stop off for a picnic. Pat and Len get on well, and are soon talking about their pasts and regrets. Heather and Shirley arrive in Brighton and track down Garry. While Heather's on the rollercoaster, Shirley begs Garry to give her mate a chance. Garry declares that he can't because he loves Dawn. Garry phones the hotel and learns that Dawn's returned from her shopping trip. He rushes back to declare his love to her, but is shocked to discover her on the bed with Matt. Gutted, Garry goes to the bar to drown his sorrows. He calls his old pal Minty for support. Minty answers his mobile in bed. Champagne glasses on the bedside table reveal that he's not alone. Minty fibs that he can't meet Garry because he's on his Italian course in Brighton. He's alarmed to hear that Garry's in Brighton too. Minty's mystery woman emerges from the bathroom. It's Garry's mum, Hazel. Pat arrives at her destination, but fears she's left it too late to visit. The old Victorian building is being converted into flats. Distressed, Pat sobs her apology to 'Joan'. |
