Summary[]
As Pat's past catches up with her, she heads to Worthing. Heather considers telling Garry how she feels about him, while the object of her affection encourages Dawn to bond with Summer.

Pat decides she has to visit Worthing after she receives a letter in the post. She convinces Kevin to lend her a car. He assumes her outing has something to do with an old flame. A besotted Heather's been following Garry. She invites him to join her for a mixed grill, but he turns her down. Undeterred, Heather ropes Shirley into following Garry to Brighton. Dawn's not keen on taking Summer to Brighton, but Garry thinks it'll help them to bond. There are no free twin rooms at the hotel, so they have to take a double. It's not long before Dawn swans off, leaving Summer with Garry. Unable to borrow a car from Kevin, Shirley forces Pat to give her and Heather a lift to the coast. Meanwhile, rather than attending Italian classes, Minty arrives at a seaside guest house with champagne and flowers. Mickey and Keith decide to do up Summer's room. They try to earn some cash by selling choc ices from Clint's van. Their stock melts when Keith forgets to plug the freezer in, but they manage to flog it as organic milkshake. Pat and Shirley snipe at each other on the journey. Heather's very concerned to learn that Pat doesn't intend to stop for lunch. Reluctantly, Pat agrees to call in at a service station. When Pat visits the loo, Shirley sees her chance to take the car. Her plan's almost scuppered when it won't start, but she works her wiles and gets a push from a bloke. Pat's furious to see Shirley drive off without her. |
