Summary[]
As Pauline's world begins to crumble, Ian lays a trap for Jane and a reluctant Ben finally meets Stella.
Joe warns Martin and Sonia that it's time that Pauline knew the truth about them. Joe plans to take Pauline out for lunch as she seems depressed. At home, Pauline stares at a photo of Mark and broods over the past. Darren introduces himself to Li, who's delivering a new batch of DVDs. He urges Mickey to ask her out in order to keep her sweet. Later, Darren talks Mickey through his business mistakes and fires him. Ian texts Jane, pretending to be Grant and asking to meet her. Jane leaves a message saying that she never wants to see him again. Ian never hears it as he throws his phone away. Phil introduces Ben to Stella and gives her flowers to apologise if he upset her on their date. Stella tries to make Ben feel welcome, but he's cold towards her. He looks disgusted when Stella and Phil kiss. Stacey, Sean and Bradley see that Ruby's arranged to rent out number 41. Sean suggests that they all squat. Bradley decides to go back to Jim and Dot's. Stacey goes back to Charlie's. Reluctantly, Sean follows her. Joe tries to get through to Pauline but she makes it clear that he can't possibly understand how she feels. The best years of her life are behind her and he'll never mean as much to her as Arthur did. Pauline overhears Joe, Dot, Martin and Sonia talk about her gloomy state of mind. She finds out that Martin and Sonia are an item again and listens to Sonia badmouth her. Only Dot stands up for Pauline. Pauline's stunned to hear what people think of her. She lights one of Dot's cigarettes and forgets about it. Soon, a fire is raging. Martin breaks in and yells for his mother, but Pauline awaits her fate silently. |
