Summary[]
During the New Year festivities, Phil tells Dennis about Johnny's threat. Sharon's future plans are devastatingly ruined.
|
Phil begins to wind Dennis up, but Dennis is not rising to it. When Phil realises that the revelation of Johnny killing Andy isn’t enough to brew Dennis up to seek revenge, he tells him that Johnny attacked Sharon. Dennis is adamant that he’s not the person that he used to be. Phil chases him out onto the Square and tries everything in his stride to raise Dennis to his level, but his plot fails and Dennis goes back to Sharon. At the Fowlers', Ian is upset to learn Sharon is leaving. Martin and Joe go over to the Vic to get some more beers. Upon their return, with a free bottle of champagne from Peggy, everyone raises a glass to Dennis and Sharon. Sharon can sense an atmosphere as Dennis downs some vodka. When Sharon doesn't open up to him about why they have to leave, Dennis goes out to get his revenge on Johnny not before sharing a heart-to-heart with Dot in the kitchen. Phil spots Dennis leaving the Fowlers. He assembles the family and Sharon over to the Vic for a farewell bash. Dennis beats Johnny to a pulp and leaves him bleeding to death on the floor. Before he leaves, he throws a mobile in arm's length to Johnny’s side. Shortly after, Phil turns up to find Johnny lying on the floor and ejects the tape that has caught the whole commotion. Unbeknown to Phil, Johnny has managed to reach the mobile. Sharon begins to panic as the clock ticks into the New Year and Dennis is nowhere to be seen. Her prayers are answered when she spots Dennis in the crowd walking towards her. As he draws nearer, Sharon notices blood spiralling out from his body - he’s been stabbed. Dennis drops to the floor and holds Sharon’s stomach before sinking out of motion and reaching his death. A hysteric Sharon pleads for him not to leave her as the residents around her celebrate the New Year. |
