Summary[]

Peggy is glad to have Sam hope, but Sam is finding it hard to move on from recent events. Ruby tells Johnny that she has applied to go to sixth form, but he has other ideas.

Sam has returned to the Square having been released from prison but is finding it hard to get back to normal and face people again. Peggy is excited to have the family back where they belong in the Vic and revels in being the landlady once more. She decides to throw a cocktail party to celebrate their return. Sam admits to Peggy that she isn't coping and after a heart-to-heart seems to find a new strength to face everyone.

Jake hides the £5000 that Chrissie got from Ian for the Vic under the stairs before telling Alfie he is leaving the Square to be near Chrissie.

Ian is being pressured by Phil to sell him the Arches and asks Johnny for help. Thinking he has got one over on Phil, Ian starts mouthing off in the Vic only to be unceremoniously chucked out by Sam. Just as Sam seems to be making progress, Phil's solicitor informs him that Sam is still looking at going back to prison for four years.
