Summary[]
Barbara's condition is deteriorating but she summons Steve for another row. Barry begs Natalie to change her mind.

Natalie and Barry argue about the abortion - Natalie breaks down and tells Barry about her unhappy childhood. She decides to go and stay with her mother for the night. Steve arrives at his mum's flat where she tells him she's just discharged herself from hospital after a heart attack. Steve spots a photo of Phil in the flat and she tells Steve she knows Melanie slept with Phil - they have a heated argument and Steve accuses his mum of child abuse. Barbara has an angina attack but refuses to let Steve call an ambulance and throws her tablets down the toilet. Steve finds her will - she is leaving all her money to his sister and the Cats Protection League. She has a major heart attack during which she kisses Steve on the mouth - he leaves her flat an emotional wreck. |
