Summary[]

Grant finds Terry with Courtney. Michael accepts a job offer in Leeds as Lisa is being set up to take his present job. Mary realises that Conor is the father of Ruth's child.


Michael accepts the job in Leeds without telling Susan. Susan is unsure about the move and voices her concerns to Lisa. Grasping at straws, Michael tells Susan he is going to lose his job. He claims the Council brought Lisa in to replace him. Michael's lie backfires. Susan tells him they are going to stay and fight.

Grant is askance to learn about Peggy's lunch date with Frank. He's supposed to be going to the Brewers' Association do. Grant is forced to apologise to Nina. Nina agrees to babysit on condition Grant reconsiders letting Terry see Courtney. Grant reluctantly promises to think about it. Downstairs, Irene notes Peggy and Grant's departures with interest.

Alex persuades Melanie to give Steve another chance. He tells her "you've got to hear his side before you write him off". Saskia tells Melanie that she has been sleeping with Steve last week and he was only seeing Melanie when Saskia wasn't around. Melanie slaps Saskia. Embittered, Saskia taunts Melanie - "don't forget to ask Steve about the baby". Melanie ignores Steve's apologies. Later, Steve phones Saskia to warn her to keep away from Melanie.

Susan tells an uncomprehending Lisa, "I'm not rolling over and letting you take Michael's job". After Michael tells her he wants "more than anything" to leave Walford, Susan agrees to move to Leeds.

In the First 'til Last, Irene prompts Terry to visit Courtney whilst Grant and Peggy are away from the Vic. Nina isn't sure but Terry assures her. Grant's lunch is cancelled and he isn't impressed to find Terry cradling Courtney.

Mary continues to push Ruth into telling Mark about the baby. Mary voices her anger to Conor, who tells her "it's up to Ruth whether she tells anyone. There's people's feelings at stake here". Mary accuses Conor of covering up for Ruth. His angry warning to "drop it" brings Mary to a terrible realisation - Conor is the father!
