Summary[]

Mark suffers from side effects and stops taking his medication. Steve finishes with Saskia, who is willing to be his mistress. Nina talks to Grant about letting Terry see Courtney.

Peggy sings Nina's praises to Irene. Nina is stunned by the sight of a man talking to Alex on the steps of Bridge House hospice. Grant overhears Nina phoning a friend for help. Alex tells Nina that the man she saw earlier is Dean Collins - a recovering addict, newly arrived in the hostel.

Mark is nervous. He is waiting for the results of his check up. Ruth and Mary clash in the café. Mary urges Ruth to tell Mark about the pregnancy. Ruth warns Mary that it doesn't concern her. Mary confides in Conor her suspicion that Ruth is having an affair. Conor maintains an anxious silence.

In the Vic, Bianca is questioned by DI Bulford. He asks Bianca whether Tiffany admitted to making a false statement about Grant. Bianca confirms that she did, in the letter Beppe burned. Bulford suggests the two of them colluded to see Grant jailed for a crime he didn't commit.

Steve breaks things off with Saskia. He tells her they have nothing. Saskia becomes tearful and hysterical. She suggests that he can have Melanie as well as her. Disgusted, Steve storms out. Saskia is stricken.

After the results of the test, Mark tells Ruth that he's coming off his medication. He explains, "I can't handle the side effects any more". Distraught, Mark hugs Ruth and thanks her for listening. Ruth blanches, more conflicted than she's ever been.

Irene prompts Nina to ask Grant if he'll give Terry access to Courtney. When Nina does so, Grant explodes with rage. Nina storms out of the Vic. Returning home, Irene catches Nina packing her bags. Nina tells her that she's leaving Walford. Irene is stunned. Nina continues "I'm leaving because the thing I feared most has happened. There's someone here who knows me". Irene doesn't comprehend her panic until Nina explains that the man at Bridge House is a client - Nina's past as a prostitute has caught up with her.
