Phil tells Alex to keep Frank away from the funeral - Alex pleads for peace so everyone can mourn Tiffany. Over at the Vic, Grant leaves for his Magistrate's Court appearance. Peggy angrily rebuffs Phil's suggestion that Frank shouldn't attend the funeral. Grant returns - his case was temporarily adjourned "on compassionate grounds". Over at Deals on Wheels business is slow - Frank is convinced he's scaring the punters away, much to Roy's dismay. Alex arrives to try and persuade Frank to come to the funeral. Frank is unwilling but anxious to do something - Alex suggests he can. Alex accompanies Frank to the Vic, where Frank announces that he'd like to pay for the flowers for Tiffany's funeral. Peggy responds warmly, but Grant overhears and throws Frank out. Peggy follows after Frank, but to no avail. As Bianca frantically searches for Tiffany's letter, she receives an unwanted visitor - Frank. Nervous and tongue-tied, Frank tries to make things up with her. Bianca snaps, telling Frank that though she doesn't blame him, each time she sees him it reminds her of Tiffany. Mark spies Ruth in the market and calls her over. When she spots that he's not wearing the gloves she bought him, Ruth storms off. Ruth returns home to find her worst fears confirmed - her home pregnancy test has produced a positive result. Elsewhere, Steve tracks down Melanie in the shop with a present - a new pair of tights. Grant has a blazing row with Peggy, during which she calls him a loveless bully. Grant suggests he should miss the funeral altogether - Peggy can't win. Roy goes in search of Frank, and finds him alone in his car on Bridge Street. Frank is disconsolate, blaming himself for ruining the lives of Tiffany, Grant and Courtney. Roy reminds Frank that he too once thought about killing himself, and urges Frank to stay and confront his demons - by attending Tiffany's funeral. |
