Summary[]
Billie's missing Alan and wants him there for Christmas Day. There's an awkward atmosphere between Lorraine and Grant. Pauline and Ruth compete in pleasing Mark with his Christmas dinner.
Carol promises Billie that Alan will come over. When everyone's occupied unwrapping presents, Billie slips out of the front door. Carol panics when she realises Billie has gone and runs out onto the Square when she notices the front door is open. Pauline's jealous when Mark and Ruth overthrow her Christmas present to Martin with something better. She's insulted that Ruth has gotten her a cardigan. Carol bangs on Number 55 and tells Alan that Billie's missing. Lorraine tells Joe that Grant was just comforting her the night before after he caught them kissing. He seems to believe her. The Square sets out a search party for Billie. Elsewhere, Billie chases a dog into a derelict building. Carol and Alan have a slanging match. Carol tells him they're both to blame for Billie. Nigel and Clare find Billie and return him to a heartbroken Carol. Kathy asks Phil to take it easy with the booze today, but he refuses. Joe asks Tiffany if Grant does bad things. She tells him some days she swears he has the 666 mark on him! George announces that he and Peggy are engaged. Grant and Phil are stunned. Alan asks Carol if he can spend the day with her and the family. She agrees. Joe freaks out when Grant goes to carve the turkey and tells Lorraine that he has the mark of the devil. Phil mocks him and Lorraine hits back at him for laughing at her ill son. Phil snaps at Kathy when she butts in, leading to Ted hitting back at Phil. Grant tells him to take it easy. Phil tells him to concentrate on Tiffany. Joe asks the guests if Tiffany is Grant's wife - why was he kissing his mum last night? Grant covers, claiming they were under the mistletoe. Tiffany continues drinking despite Peggy and Grant's reservations. The table turns into a slanging match and Peggy orders them all to shut up. Tiffany leaves to spend the day with Simon. The Fowlers make a toast to Arthur. Upstairs alone in the Vic, Joe throws his psychiatric medication out of the window. Peggy turns up at Number 45 wanting to talk to Mark. The Jacksons are in high spirits. Carol asks Blossom if she should ask Alan to move back in. She tells her to take one step at a time. Peggy apologises to Mark about publicly humiliating him in the Vic about his HIV. She tells him that she has cancer and confides in him about living with an illness. Grant enters Lorraine's bedroom and tells her that he wants her. Lorraine tries to stop herself, but can't help it when he kisses her. She tells him to close the door. Later, in bed together, Grant tells Lorraine he really cares about her. Lorraine confesses that she loves him. |
