Summary[]
Parental problems abound for Alan and Ian. A near tragedy provokes the locals lead by Carol and Cindy into removing the barbed wire from around the children's playground. Meanwhile, Nellie worries about her cat.
Phil is furious that Kathy has decided to give Alan his job back at the café. Cindy and David meet by the canal. Steven is knocked over by a car while playing football with Ian in the Square. Carol storms over to the playground and demands that the fences are taken down. The residents of the Square confront the property developer and when he shrugs the blame to the council, they tear the fences down. Cindy arrives back at the Square and smashes up the developer's car. Pauline hands her a pole but the police stop her before she can do further damage. The uprising spills into the Square and in the confusion, Nigel is pushed into a police officer and is promptly arrested. Alan is also arrested when he tries to stop the police from arresting Carol. Cindy, Pauline, Carol, Lorraine, Alan and Nigel are all taken to the police station. |
