Summary[]
Garry Rawlings sets up a fruit and veg stall. Ricky considers his future and Robbie and Billie have their photos taken. Pauline and Willy visit a nursing home for Willy's mum.
Sanjay and Mark are furious that other fashion and fruit and veg stalls are being set up on the market. They confront Michael in the café but he is unapologetic. Mark gets to know Garry Rawlings, who has set up the fruit and veg stall. Garry insists that they can be friends but Mark remains sceptical. The market traders spend the day worrying about their futures with the new competition and Bianca makes her feelings towards the competition clear. Pat confides in Ricky that Frank has been in contact and tells him that Frank is going to lay low for while. Ricky decides to move out but Pat wants him to stay. Ricky goes to the Vic and demands that Peggy keep her opinions to herself. Carol collects Billie from school early as he has come down with chickenpox. Robbie offers to look after Billie so that Alan can go back to bed, intending to use him in the photoshoot. Tiffany and Tony arrive before the photographer but Tiffany doesn't think it will work, considering that Billie is mixed race. When Tony leaves early, Robbie offers to act as the husband but Tiffany tells him it won't work and she leaves too. Robbie persuades Billie to play along just as the photographer arrives. He then concocts a story that Roberta is not around because she has left him but his cover is blown when Peggy informs Carol about the photoshoot taking place in the Square and she interrupts. Grant brings Phil back to the Square. Phil thanks Ricky for saving him and then offers to put him up if he has nowhere to stay. Kathy thanks Peggy for her help and assures her that she can leave now that Phil is back, but Peggy insists on coming back in the morning. Mark confesses to Ruth that he is wary of Willy and the amount of time that Pauline is spending with him. Willy is worried when his senile mother answers the phone and tells the caller about the money. When he realises it was Pauline, he reassures her that she mustn't answer the phone. Willy rushes to the square to get the full information about what his mother has said to her. He then shows her the brochure for a nursing home. Although he feels guilty for wanting to move her to a home, Pauline reassures him that it may be for the best and offers to go with him to look around. Willy later decides that the home is the best place for her. |
