Synopsis

Frank Butcher is back after almost 2 years away. Pat Butcher is shocked and asks all the guests to leave, and they all say they will go to The Queen Victoria to continue to celebrate Christmas there. Only Frank, Pat and Roy Evans stay behind at No 41 Albert Square. Pat says she has to talk to Frank in the kitchen but Roy says he will be there if she needs him. Pat's world has been turned upside down since Frank came back. He says when he walked out that he felt everyone was better off without him. He wandered around for days. He couldnt sleep or eat so ended up in hospital. Pat says she had £3.85 in her purse on the day Frank left almost 2 years ago. She said the insurance claim was denied and she had a year of stomach churning sleepless nights worried about where he was and she scrubbed toilets and cleaned all hours she could just to keep this house together and feed his 2 children Ricky and Janine. Frank says it is still his house. Pat agrees that his name is on the deeds and she asked for a divorce but as he was not declared dead she couldn't. Pat cries and runs to Roy. Frank asks who Roy is and then asks Roy to leave but Roy stays and Frank finds out him and Pat are a couple. Frank says to Pat that she still loves him but she says no. Frank walks out again when Pat says Roy is living with them.
