Summary[]

Phil is rushed to hospital after Grant's confrontation. Michelle tries to console Sharon, whilst Pat tells David how she feels about Ricky moving out.

Grant sits still over the inspection pit. Nigel frantically phones for an ambulance before encouraging Grant to get out whilst he still can. He gets the keys to the Jag and moves it out of sight.

Natalie passes Nigel as he moves the car and phones the police.

Kathy clutches her engagement ring to Phil.

Sirens and blue lights light up the Square as an ambulance and police cars pull up on Turpin Way to tend to Phil. Michelle and Sharon hear the sirens and rush over with Arthur, Debbie and Pauline. Kathy also runs over and fights the police off to see what has happened.

Grant emerges from the Arches. Kathy tries hitting him but is restrained by police, who put her in the ambulance to calm down. Phil is rushed to hospital.

Michelle takes Sharon, who is in shock, to Number 55. Sharon blames herself for Phil's injuries.

Pauline wants to support Kathy but is discouraged by Arthur and Nellie from getting involved.

Kathy and Nigel head to the hospital. The nurse updates them on Phil.

Pat confides in David about Ricky moving out. David recalls how he left home when he was 16.

Nigel visits Phil on the ward. Phil wants to see Kathy. Nigel fetches Kathy, but by the time they return, he is no longer there. The nurse informs Kathy that the doctors feel there has been internal damage and so have decided to operate.
