Debbie bags herself a job interview at the bookies but Nigel does not want her to take it. Pauline wants Arthur to repaper the walls of the backroom, but his determination to do it in his own time causes ructions. Meanwhile, Phil and Kathy are unsure about their conversation from yesterday.

Kathy is back and working in the café. She explains to Debbie that she cannot work out if Phil proposed to her or not last night, and Debbie reassures her that he will propose again if he is serious. Phil can also not remember what happened.

Pauline recruits Ian to cater for a family party, which is a surprise for Arthur.

Nigel agrees to try and find out if Kathy remembers anything about the proposal, but Kathy is cryptic.

Arthur gets wallpaper from Big Ron for a knockdown price.

Ricky uses his thirty minute break to spend time with Bianca at the allotments. However, he loses track of time and is late back to work. David discovers he was with Bianca and threatens to tell Alan.

Debbie and Nigel confirm Kathy and Phil have a hazed memory of the previous night's events, and so work with Grant to successfully set the pair up to meet in the Square gardens. Phil then gets on one knee and proposes to Kathy properly as Debbie, Grant and Nigel watch on from the Vic's window. Kathy accepts the proposal. The trio cheer as Phil twirls Kathy in his arms.
