Kathy learns some home truths from Pat. Gita shuts Sanjay out. David and Ricky open for business at the car lot.

Phil agrees that David can use his Jaguar in his line up of cars for when a Gazette reporter comes to take photos and report on the opening. David manages to get Kathy to agree to provide a food spread free of charge as a way of supporting Pat and Ricky. Ian and Cindy get into an argument at home because Cindy wants to support Gita who yesterday had dog dirt posted through her letter box. Ian says that they should not get involved, and that it was probably meant for Phil. Ian throws it back in her face about her giving up a life in a doss house to come back to live in the Square. Sanjay confirms to Kathy that it's true about Tricky Dicky leaving and that he's taken over the collecting of the rent. Della and Binnie ask Sanjay about taking a bedsit in the house. Mark receives a letter from an old friend Joe who is dying of AIDS and has asked to see him. Mark doesn't want to go, and later talks his feelings over with Pauline. Bianca goes to the café to show Natalie her new coat that he mum bought with her out of her bingo winnings, and Ian and Cindy come in and argue and Ian accidentally spills his cup of coffee all over Bianca after Cindy grabs his arm. Cindy says she needs more help from him, but he says the only thing he could do would be to give up work. The last thing he wants is to come home from work and change nappies! Robbie sells his Mega Drive to his friend Kevin. Pauline witnesses the transaction and takes the money off him to pay for Michelle's wall, which Robbie had previously damaged. Pat has a go at Kathy and tells her about Phil's arrangement which sees him earning 10% of the car lot sales. Kathy says she wants to know what Pat knows about the fire. Kathy tells Pat she knows how the fire started. Ian has a go at Gita in the café and tells her to keep her nose other there business and to stop trying to drive a wedge between him and Cindy. Gita defends herself and says she's done nothing of the kind. Kathy and Pat have a heart to heart outside the car lot. Kathy says she doesn't think she can still be with Phil because although she loves him she doesn't like him. |
