Summary[]
Kathy is impressed with Natalie's handling of the café when working alone. Pat gives Ricky £20 of the money she owes Ian, but cannot pay the interest back so deducts it from the weekly repayment. Debbie is nervous to tell Clare of her and Nigel's big news.
Blossom decides she needs to start pulling her weight at Number 25. Nigel is in a delightful mood. Della is tired of Steve's questions over her nights out and snaps at him. Sharon then makes a reference to the cost of the West End, and Della insists a friend is treating her. Ian learns that if his clients do not repay the money they owe him, then soon their financial problems will also become his. Pat does not have enough money to pay for all her shopping at the shop so has to put some back. Sharon asks Kathy what she would do if she thought someone was nicking from her till, not knowing how to approach Della over the situation. Robbie enters the café whilst Natalie is working, and drops Sanjay's dead mouse on the floor before making a fuss over it. Carol's mood brightens when she leads herself to believe Blossom will soon get tired of the family and move into a new flat. Nigel asks several residents to meet him at the Vic in the evening as he has a surprise planned. Della arranges to meet someone on Victoria Road after her shift at the hairdressers. Kathy has to close the café. Sanjay admits the dead mouse is his but he did not plant it anywhere; they guess Tricky Dicky is involved. Steve asks Della if she is seeing someone when she returns from work; she tells him he is prying. Nigel tells Clare that he and Debbie are getting married, and she asks him if she can call him "dad". Ian tries chasing Pat up for the interest she owes but she refuses to give him anything; Ricky then quits working for him. Steve spies on Della as she heads to Victoria Road and walks off with a woman. Nigel takes Debbie to the Vic and explains he has a surprise for her - a man dressed as a gorilla walks in and gets on one knee. Nigel is shocked and learns the agency he phoned for the surprise misheard him on the phone, and instead of dressing as "Cupid", he dressed as something stupid. Disregarding the mishap, Nigel announces to the residents at the Vic that he and Debbie are getting married. |
