Summary[]
Steve is optimistic that Hattie will return. David visits Pauline and tells her that he thinks Pete would have wanted his two sons to work together on the stall. She starts to come round to his persuasion. Natalie tries to think of new ways to wind Tricky Dicky up.
Pauline bursts into Number 41, and warns David not to mess with the family. He insists he is only doing what he feels is right. Carol wants Alan to do the shopping for her. Natalie thinks Tricky Dicky has fallen for her lie. Sanjay is encouraged to get the lock changed on his flat again so he can move back in, while Gita is away. Bianca and Natalie visit Tricky Dicky, where they learn he is not easily fooled. Alan asks Bianca to do the shopping for him. Carol becomes irritated with Alan for not pulling his weight after discovering Bianca went shopping instead. Debbie and Clare move into Mark and Nigel's flat. Ian is called to Number 45 to hear what David has to say, but he thinks David is just out to cause trouble and refuses to listen. He tells Nellie and Pauline that he is surprised they are falling for David's tricks. Steve asks Jules to give Hattie a letter. He refuses and tells Steve that she can do better than him. David tells Pat that he has visited Pauline and explained himself to her; he insists he wants a fresh start and to make a success of things in the Square. Mark learns from Nellie that Jules has been lying to Steve - Hattie is still living in Norwich. Debbie asks Nigel if he can cope acting as a father to Clare. He tells her he is determined to try. Alan takes Carol out for fish and chips as a peace offering. Mark tells Steve that Jules has been lying. He asks Grant for tomorrow off so that he can travel up to Norwich to find Hattie. Frank is unimpressed with David's lack of hard work at the car lot. He promises to work harder for Frank.
