- 18th September - Pauline Fowler wins the Glamorous Granny Competition and Arthur Fowler reveals he robbed the Christmas club money.

- 25th September - The wedding ceremony of Lofty and Michelle.
- 30th September - Michelle jilts Lofty at the altar.
- 16th October - Angie tells husband Den that she's got a terminal illness and got six months to live and the shows first ever two-hander takes place.
- 13th November - Arthur is arrested for stealing the Christmas club money.
- 18th November - First appearance of Barry Clark and Den and Angie take a second honeymoon to Venice only for Den to find out that Jan is there with a man named Dario Chimisso.
- 25th November - Angie spills the beans to a bartender that she lied about her terminal illness on the Orient Express with Den eavesdropping in the background.
- 25th December - Den gives Angie the divorce papers and Arthur has a breakdown leading him to smash up the Fowler household.
