Dougie Slade made his first appearance on 31 December 2002. He is portrayed by John Bowler.
Storylines[]
Dougie Slade, is a corrupt former Detective Sergeant who was involved in the case which led to Alfie Moon being imprisoned for credit card fraud.
When The Queen Victoria pub wins the "East End Pub of the Year Award", Alfie is photographed and appears in the paper. Alfie is still using the false identity of Chris Wright, which he had used to get his job there. When Dougie sees the picture in the paper, he visits Alfie and threatens to expose his true identity unless he steals £4,000 from the cash till at the pub.
Dougie's plan is eventually scuppered when Alfie runs away and Peggy Mitchell, the owner of the pub, catches Dougie helping himself to money from the till. Alfie is exposed afterwards, but still keeps his job at the pub, due to his charm and charisma.
