P.C. Debbie Monks made her first appearance on 17 February 2000 and last on 9 July 2002. She was portrayed by Fiona Bell.
Background[]
Debbie trained with Beppe di Marco at Hendon Police College. When they meet again in 2000, she gives him a frosty reception because of his sacking from the police force. He explains to her what he did and why - it wasn't for money but that he loved the woman who was killed. This makes Debbie forgive him.
Storylines[]
She arrives at The Queen Victoria pub and tells everyone to stay inside as gas workers have found an unexploded World War II bomb in Victoria Road. As she is about to announce that the bomb has been made safe, there is a huge explosion caused by a gas leak. She finds out through her police radio that her friend Liz (a probationary police officer) got caught in the blast and has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. Later, Debbie tells everyone they're free to leave the pub and go home as they've now defused the bomb.
Debbie is seen again two years later when she questions Janine Butcher about the alleged assault on her by Laura Beale. She also speaks to Kat Slater who had phoned the police when she realised that Trevor Morgan had sent Donna Andrews a rose. She tells them that Trevor's actions do not constitute a threat.
