David Yallop was a EastEnders scriptwriter for 2 weeks, he was commissioned to write a hundred half hour episodes to cut the number of characters. Some of his ideas was an IRA explosion in Albert Square, armed robbery, suicide and fatal disease. Producer Mike Gibbon was delight with ideas. The soaps head Peter Creegan, decided the storylines showed errors of judgment and tase.

David submitted 10 scripts and was paid £7,500 and in October 1992 he lost his job. David then successfully sued the BBC for breach of contract and was paid £68,000.
