Dave (also Ethel) is the cat of Dot Branning.

Storylines[]

Dave was first seen 31 October 2016, by Carmel Kazemi scratching at the bin bags of Bridge Street Café, where she chased it away. When Dot first saw the cat she shooed it. Ethel managed to get into Stacey and Martin's house and licked their turkey. Martin sets Ethel out the back and closes the door. Dot heard Ethel crying, despite it being a cat and not having the ability to cry, and felt sorry for it and brought him to her house for a chocolate finger. The next day she named the cat Ethel and then afterwards discovered it was actually a male and let Amy and Ricky name him Dave. later Abi helps Dot bake a cake For Patrick's birthday after finishing it Abi departs Dot's as she leaves for Exeter, then Dot gets ready to take Patrick's cake to the vic though as she is leaving Dave makes her trip causing her to fly on a chair and injure her hip. Sonia returns the square to move back in with Dot to hospital Patrick And Robbie then Volunteer to clean up the kitchen Robbie Then Sees Dave Sitting On A chair and thinks it is a stray Patrick then explains to him that Dave Is her cat.

In July 2017, When Dot trips over Dave, she ends up in hospital. After Dot has been hospitalised, Dave goes missing. Robbie and Sonia Fowler find a dead cat in a bin and believe it's Dave, however Dave later finds Dot at the hospital. During this, Ted and Joyce Murray claim Dave is their cat "Lucky" who ran away. Then in October Dot asks Joyce to look after Dave while she is away. Dot left In January 2020, and Moved To Ireland taking Dave along with her. now Dot has passed Away her grandson Charlie now owns him.
