DS Barnes made her first appearance on 4 January 2019. She is portrayed by Alwyne Taylor.

She is a police officer who interrogates Mel Kelly and Hunter Owen after Ray escapes from a police car. On 9 March 2021 she interrogates Stacey Slater over an attack on Ruby Allen, which was a lie from Ruby. She later arrests Keanu Taylor for possession of cocaine.
