Notes[]
- This Comic Relief special was shown in 2 parts. Part 1 was 8 minutes long and part 2 was 6 minutes long. It focuses on the Who Shot Phil? storyline.
- A short segment of the opening titles plays and part 1 begins with a reprise from the previous episode (15 March 2001), where Joe di Marco is hit by a car. After the 'doof-doof', the filming stops and the actors/actresses appear as themselves rather than their characters. The first part ends with the executive producer declaring, "in ten minutes time, we will know who shot Phil Mitchell" and the doof-doof plays and then the logo appears.
- Before part 2 was shown, a quick recap of part 1 is shown, before a short segment of the opening titles plays. The second parts ends with Jerry Hall shooting the executive producer after he kept hassling her. The doof-doof plays and then the logo appears.
- EastEnders' writer Tony Jordan makes a cameo in the storyline conference room.
- A clip is shown on a television of Phil being shot. This happened on 1 March 2001.
- Harry Enfield suggests that he plays a relative of Ian's and has an eel shop called Beale's Eels. The name would later be used in 2023 when Ian, Cindy and Dean open a pie and mash shop in Walford.
- Barry Cryer suggests bringing back Den Watts, with Jenny Eclair reminding him that he is dead. Den would later be brought back from the dead in September 2003.
- Mel Smith's character shares a name with a real-life actor who would join EastEnders in 2023 as George Knight
