Baby Carter was born on 7 June 2023 in prison as his mother was serving a five year sentence for perverting the course of justice. He now lives with his uncle and half-sister, Ricky and Scarlett Butcher, in Germany.
Backstory[]
His mother, Janine Butcher, discovers she is pregnant in September 2022, when she faints while stirring soup for her daughter, Scarlett Butcher. Janine then plans on getting a abortion but is stopped after Janine's partner and the baby's father, Mick Carter, stops her after he is informed of the pregnancy by Frankie Lewis.
Janine later falls down the stairs at Walford Tube Station, when she is on her way to a scan. Mick's ex-wife, Linda Carter, then sees her and takes her to Walford General Hospital. There, Janine and Mick learn that their baby is at risk of miscarriage, after the incident. Janine lies to Mick about the baby's condition getting worse and is found out when she threatens her friend, Sonia Fowler, in the middle of the Square.
Sonia then calls back Janine's brother, Ricky Butcher, to help Janine over her paranoia surrounding Mick returning to Linda. On Christmas Eve, Mick and Janine get married. The following day, Janine is exposed for previously framing Linda for crashing a car with her baby, Annie Carter, in the back while drunk. Janine then escapes Walford with Mick and Linda chasing after each other, the pair now back together. Mick then gets lost at sea after trying to save Linda, following Janine crashing into the water.
On Boxing Day, Janine is arrested for perverting the course of justice and after pleading guilty, is sentenced to 5 years. After this, Janine gives birth in prison but later goes to live with Ricky.
In August 2023, Linda gets an idea to gain custody of their son to raise him with his half-siblings Ollie and Annie Carter, but this doesn't happen. Ricky later sends Linda a picture of the baby, on 31 January 2024.
