Adam Best is the son of Manda Best and ex of Libby Fox. He made his first appearance 10 September 2009 and last on 19 July 2010. He was portrayed by David Proud.
Storylines[]
2009-2010: Arrival, relationship with Libby, blackmailing Lucy and departure[]
Adam is a university student at the University of Oxford who suffers with spina bifida, he arrives in Walford to meet his mother Manda Best and her new boyfriend Minty Peterson. He instantly takes a disliking towards Minty, who he believes is not good enough for his mother. He is also introduced to Libby Fox, who also attends the University of Oxford.
Adam develops romantic feelings for Libby Fox despite the fact that she is engaged to Darren Miller. Adam does everything he can to split Libby and Darren up so he can have Libby for himself including constantly flirting with Libby, publicly humiliating Darren for having a baby with Heather Trott. Darren wonders what he should say to Libby, who has gone back to Oxford early.

Adam punches Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb.
Manda leaves Albert Square after Minty reveals he has feelings for Sam Mitchell and Adam goes back to Oxford. Adam returns months later and it's revealed while he was away that him and Libby have started seeing each other. After Adam catches Arthur Chubb flirting with Libby in the Bridge Street Café, he punches Arthur in the nose.

Adam blackmails Lucy Beale.
Adam agrees to help Lucy Beale with her exams, with Lucy paying him for exam papers. After Adam is frustrated by Libby's behaviour during a picnic, he tells Lucy he wants a kiss as a down payment.

Adam leaves the Square after being dumped and slapped by Libby Fox.
Adam threatens to expose Lucy's tricks, but Lucy is unfazed. Lucy tells her brother Peter Beale that she was blackmailed by Adam, Peter subsequently confronts Adam and threatens to tell Libby everything. Unbeknownst to Adam, Libby is standing behind him and hears everything, Libby then publicly exposes Adam for his cheating, Adam defends himself but takes things too far when he insults Denise. Libby then slaps him and tells him to leave Walford, to which he does. Adam drives out of Walford, never to be seen again.
