Adam Best made his first appearance 10 September 2009. He is portrayed by David Proud.
Storylines[]
2009-2010: Time in Walford[]
Adam is a university student the university of Oxford, he arrives in Walford to meet his mom Manda Best and her new boyfriend Minty Peterson, Adam instantly takes a disliking to Minty and makes several digs at Minty before Minty finally confronts Adam on his rudeness after taking Adam to the hospital for a health check up. Adam tells Minty his mom has had several bad relationships but apologises for not giving Minty a chance and the two agree to be civil from now on.
Adam develops romantic feelings for Libby Fox despite the fact that she is engaged to Darren Miller. Adam does everything he can to split Libby and Darren up so he can have Libby for himself including constantly flirting with Libby, publicly humiliating Darren for having a baby with Heather Trott. Darren wonders what he should say to Libby, who has gone back to Oxford early. Adam tells him he should give her some space, and Darren agrees, but Adam then sends Libby a text message saying he is there for her if she needs a friend.
Adam punches Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb.
Manda leaves Albert Square after Minty reveals he has feelings for Sam Mitchell and Adam goes back to Oxford. Adam returns months later and it's revealed while he was away him and Libby have started seeing each other, after Adam catch Arthur Chubb flirting with Libby he attacks Arthur.

Adam blackmails Lucy Beale.
Adam is agrees to help Lucy Beale with her exams, Lucy pays him for exam papers, after Adam is frustrated by Libby's behaviour during a picnic, he tells Lucy he wants a kiss as a down payment. Minty sees them kiss again, after Lucy's final exam, Adam demands sex but she refuses.
Adam leaves the Square after being dumped and slapped by Libby Fox.
Adam threatens to expose Lucy's tricks, but Lucy is unfazed. Lucy tells her brother Peter Beale that she was blackmailed by Adam, Peter subsequently confronts Adam and threatens to tell Libby everything. Adam says that it would not be a good idea as Libby is still coming to terms with the deaths of her parents Denise Wicks and Owen Turner (Denise is later found alive). Unbeknownst to Adam, Libby is standing behind him and hears everything, Libby then publicly exposes Adam for his cheating, Adam defends himself but takes things too far when he insults Denise. Libby then slaps him and tells him to leave Walford, to which he does, Adam has not been seen since.
