- 1958 - Nigel Bates is born
- 1993 - First appearance: Debbie Bates, she arrives in Walford as a friend of Tracey the barmaid. She becomes a love interest for Nigel Bates when she meets him at his birthday party. Debbie and her daughter Clare move nearby to escape Debbie's husband Liam Tyler, who has been abusing her.
- 25 May 2000 - First appearance: Rod Morris, he is a tutor that is hired by Rosa di Marco after wasn’t happy with how Nicky was doing at school.
- 2009 - First appearance: Viv Bates, the husband of Terry Bates.
- 2009 - First appearance: Bushra Abbasi, an old friend of Zainab Masood's. She and Zainab attempt to set Zainab's son Syed Masood up with one of Bushra's three daughters.
- 2018 - Last appearance: Shakil Kazemi, the son of Umar Kazemi and Carmel Kazemi, who later dies from stab wounds.
