Summary[]
Shelley is determined to ask Mark out on a date. Hattie causes a scene at Number 27 upon Gidea's return. Nigel wonders why Debbie doesn't spend much time with him.
A man named Chris Taylor arrives on the Square looking for Grant - he is a former army friend of his. Grant is delighted to see him. Sharon is wary of him. Mandy looks for another sucker to fall for her charm and give her work. Grant tells Sharon he is going out for a meal with Chris in the evening. Mandy asks Sharon for work but gets turned away. Despite this, Mandy tries moving crates into the storeroom anyway but falls over and hurts herself. Jules tries talking sense to Hattie. Clyde likes how well Gidea and Kofi get along. Gidea does not want to be the cause of trouble in the family. Debbie meets Nigel at the Vic. Grant shows Sharon photographs of him and Chris. Doctor Legg checks Mandy over and is concerned for her general welfare, but Michelle tells him not to waste his time with her. Nigel asks Debbie if she has a husband because she keeps cutting their dates short. Debbie tells him it is family, not another man, that she has to focus on. He assumes it is her mother as her father is dead. Grant learns that Chris has split up with his wife and had his children taken away from him because he hit his wife. Sharon visits the restaurant that Grant has gone to and gets a waiter to give him the photographs. Something is playing on Steve's mind. He goes to tell Mark, but they are interrupted by Shelley, who plucks up the courage to invite Mark out. He tells her he is busy. Shelley returns to The Vic and tells Michelle she bottled asking Mark. Grant returns from his evening out with Chris in a reflective mood. Clyde thinks Gidea does not want to go back to Trinidad, but she insists she does. Grant tells Sharon that Chris' story opened his eyes to how badly he has treated her. He apologises to her, and she believes he will not touch her again. She wants them to try again, and they then kiss just as Phil walks in. |
