Summary[]
After another woman is attacked, Lofty says Michelle should not go out on her own so he arranges an evening out with her in the West End but in the end she is too tired so they just go to the Vic. Michelle stitches jumpers for Kathy but Lou advises her to make looser stitches to save time. Kathy later tells Michelle that it needs to be done again and reiterates to Pete that she needs a linker to get the order finished by the next week. Ali is annoyed that Naima is giving free lifts to her friends and offers to recommend female customers to her in return for a commission but she declines. Mary asks Sue to look after Annie while she is "on business". Mary returns later with cuts on her face and tells everyone it was the mystery attacker but Pat thinks it was a punter. Mary then confides in Sue that she was beaten up by other prostitutes for trying to steal their trade. Den asks Jan to move in with him but she says it is too soon. Doctor Singh refers Dot to a clinic so that she might start HRT.

Den invites Jan to move into the Queen Vic with him. Mary discovers the competition is tough in her newfound profession. Ali wants to hire Naima as a contract cabbie to protect the trade since she started giving women friends free rides in her van. When he asks her about it, she says she isn't interested. Sue still says Mehmet's overcharging the customers is the reason business is off. Ali says that is all sorted out. Mary has a job up town and gets Sue to watch Annie after Pat refuses as she doesn't want to aid her prostitution. She comes back beaten up but doesn't want to call the police. Pat takes her to the surgery and doesn't believe Mary's story that she was beaten up by the "Walford Attacker". Mary confesses to Sue that the other girls beat her up for trying to approach their tricks, when she started working their patch on the market. Naima asks Tony to fix the roof on the flat they are renting. He refuses and accuses her of nicking their cab customers. Sharon is getting £20 a week allowance from Den but she is giving it all to Angie for her gin. |
