Summary[]

Darren is already taking advantage of Carmel and has left her with the children for the day. Her mother can't help out and she has to take time off work. At the five-a-side football match between The Dagmar and the hastily recruited Queen Vic team, Den encourages his squad to play as dirty as they can in order to win. After the match Den tells Pete that Wicksy can have his job back at the Vic, with a pay rise. Magda tells Wicksy she's decided to rent Kelvin's flat, and asks Wicksy to move in with her.

Arthur complains to Pete about being kicked off as manager of the five-a-side football team.

Carmel is left to look after Darren's children and fears she is being taken advantage of. She tries phoning their mother to get her to look after the children but is unable to.

Den is excited for the Vic versus The Dagmar in the five-a-side match. He calls the team for a meeting and tells them that the Vic must win the match, even if it means playing dirty on the football pitch.

Pete cannot decide what to do to the stall to make it appeal to his customers more.

Willmott-Brown tells his football team to play professionally and encourages them to try their hardest.

Mary apologises to Carmel for her behaviour the previous night. Carmel accepts her apology and tells Mary that if she puts her trust in a social worker, she will help her get Annie back.

The football match gets underway and the Vic's team play dirty, with Barry deliberately tripping Colin over and Den winding up other players behind the referee's back. Angie, Dot and Pete watch the foul play by the Vic's team but are unable to do anything without the referee witnessing anything.

Darren returns to Carmel's flat and tells her he was attending to business.

The football match ends with the Vic winning. Willmott-Brown is unimpressed by Den's foul tactics. Colin is irritated at Barry for injuring him.
