Summary[]
The police pay a visit to the Square, whilst Billy pulls out all the stops for his unexpected guest. Residents are soon questioned and an arrest is made.

Phil tells a shocked Billy that he needs £3,000 so he can get out of the country. With Sam away, he asks Billy to collect the money from the businesses. Trying to reassure Phil that the businesses are fine, Billy tells him that he no longer works for Sam and is unable to get hold of that amount of cash. Billy fills Phil in on events since he has been away, but leaves out the parts about Sam loosing all the businesses. Wanting to help out, Billy leaves promising he will return with the money. Upstairs, Tina receives a call from Johnny. She ignores it. Johnny sits on his sofa when the doorbell rings - it is Billy. Phil waits in the living room but hears Tina coming down the stairs. He grabs her and warns her to keep quiet. Outside, police cars fill the Square looking for Phil, followed by DI Riddick. They start banging on doors. Billy charges in Johnny's house and pleads for money to help a friend. Little Mo and Freddie are awoken by the police knocking on the door. Dot and Jim also open the door to the police - Dot is keen to help them with their enquiries, saying that she has eyes like a hawk. Back at Pat's, the police ring the doorbell. Phil tells Tina to stay quiet. Pat comes down stairs and sees Phil. A policeman calls to open up, Pat tells Phil to go out of the back. As Phil makes his exit, Pat opens the door to the police. Outside Phil is cautious as the police are all over the Square. He goes into the back yard at Number 55, where a startled Ian sees him. Phil grabs him and they go into the kitchen. Phil punches him. Billy hides as Johnny speaks to the police. They soon leave. Johnny stands on the doorstep watching the police go and is seen by Dot. Billy pleads with Johnny that he needs the money for Phil. Johnny asks where Phil is. When Billy tells him he is back at Pat's, Johnny asks if Tina is there and hands Billy the money and tells him he wants nothing to do with it and does not want Phil to return. Phil threatens Ian when he doesn't believe him about having money. He drags him upstairs to the bathroom and proceeds to flush his head down the toilet. Jane calls out to Ian. Ian covers and says he's been sick. Tina and Pat are sat in the living room being questioned by D.I. Riddick when Billy enters with some money. Back at Ian's, Phil takes him into the kitchen where he sees a photo of Ben. He tells Ian that he rang him on his birthday but barely recognised his voice. Lucy comes into the kitchen and asks what's happening. The police are at the front door. Phil takes Lucy into the back room and tells Ian to get rid of the police. When they go, Ian tells Phil he will help him and get some money from the Arches. Phil asks why Ian has keys and Ian explains that Sam sold the Arches to him. Phil goes to the Arches and waits for Ian. He sees Kathy's number on the back of Ben's photo and goes to ring the number. He stops when he hears a noise outside. He carefully opens the door and leaves, thinking it is clear, he starts to go but then the police spot him and a chase ensues. As he runs down Turpin Road, he passes Scarlet where Garry and Minty are outside. Minty calls after him. Phil goes into the Fowlers' back yard and barges into the kitchen, startling Pauline, Martin and Sonia. Phil tells them not to let the police in as he runs through the house and leaves out of the front door onto the Square where police cars are police there. Phil runs over to the Queen Vic but it is shut. He hits a policeman but is then detained by more officers. The residents watch as Phil is arrested, Billy is devastated. Ian taunts Phil as he is put into a car. The photo of Ben is on the pavement outside the Vic. Phil is taken away. |
