Summary[]
Kathy is invited to the market traders ball with Tricky Dicky. Mark has the keys to his and Steve's new flat. Hattie tells Steve her family are happy to have him for Christmas. He upsets her after declining her offer to spend the holidays in Norwich.

Pete wants Ian to spend Christmas with someone and not on his own at his flat, but Ian is determined to spend it in secret with Cindy. Arthur tells Pauline he is going to the garden shop but instead meets up with Mrs Hewitt at her house. Mandy watches Mark and Steve move into their new flat and decides to try and work her way in. She is successful and Mark lets her stay. He then tells Steve that Mark has HIV. Nigel bags an invitation to the Christmas ball and gets dressed up. Ian meets Cindy again and asks her again to spend Christmas with him. She finally gives in and agrees to, but on one condition - nobody knows she is there. Nigel goes to leave but is stopped by Dot, who is worrying about Nick as he has a trial date. She shares her worries with him and he is late to the ball. Pauline heads to the Vic to find Arthur but cannot. She drinks alone. Michelle receives a rose from Jack. She chucks it. Arthur realises the time and rushes out of Mrs Hewitt's reluctantly after a lovely evening with her. Pete gives his speech for his special recognition award and then chooses the raffle winner for a holiday in Tenerife. He is disgruntled when he picks Tricky Dicky's name out and he chooses Kathy to go with him. After the event, Tricky Dicky wants to go back to Kathy's. As Kathy goes to open her flat door, she hears Cindy's voice. She looks up and is shocked to see Ian helping Cindy and Steven into his flat. |
