Summary[]
It's the day of reckoning for Whitney as she receives her verdict. Denise meets up with Ellie to tell her Phil is Raymond's father - and that he is bad news. Shirley and Linda discuss Gray's odd behaviour after he lost his temper, while Stacey struggles to give Ruby and Martin a good enough excuse as to why she was hiding in the office, and tensions between the two women quickly escalate.
Whitney is acquitted. She is thrilled and thanks Gray for encouraging her to be honest. Consumed by his own lie, Gray prepares to reveal all to a security guard, but is interrupted by Laura, who offers him his job back at the firm. He turns the offer down and heads home. Stacey claims that Kat lost a bottle of bleach in the nightclub but clanking champagne bottles in her bag give away her true motive. Denise meets Ellie in the café and explains Phil is Raymond's biological father. An unimpressed Ellie storms off. Stacey prepares to fight Ruby. Martin interposes and takes Stacey to the office to sort things out once and for all. A volatile Mick loses his temper with Shirley in the Vic when she stands by Linda over Gray's unprovoked outburst towards her. Denise barges into Number 55 and declares to Phil that she has told Ellie the truth. Martin makes Stacey realise he has moved on. Gray asks Mackenzie and Mia to identify their favourite thing about Chantelle, and then questions them on whether they want to see her again. Phil heads to the hospital to find Ellie. Kush's gambling session is interrupted by Stacey's abrupt return home. Gray sends Mackenzie and Mia to bed, promising them they will be with Chantelle again when they wake up. Linda checks in on Shirley after taking Mick home. Shirley identifies a trigger for Mick's altered behaviour - Katy. Gray tampers with the gas pipes before clutching a lighter in his hand and preparing to blow the house up. He is interrupted by a knock at the door. It is Shirley. He opens the door and she forces her way in. She smells gas and questions him over it. He claims he left the cooker on but she acknowledges the lighter in his hand and then discovers the gas pipes are leaking. She desperately tries to talk him out of killing himself and his children and is successful. He drops the lighter and breaks down in tears. |
