Summary[]
Dot, Ethel, Mo, and Marge set off with the Walford coach party for a few days in Clacton-on-Sea. Pauline is waiting to hear if she can go into hospital for her hysterectomy. Kathy tells Ian about Laurie.
Arthur phones the hospital to find out if Pauline can go in for her operation. He learns she can. Pauline worries about the operation and gets snappy with Michelle. Ethel gets jealous when she catches Reggie flirting with another lady on the coach. The bus suddenly pulls over and the coach driver is taken to hospital after falling ill. The coach party are stranded on the side of the road until a new driver comes and saves them. As they wait, three motorcyclists notice the stranded elders and bring them sandwiches. Dot is horrified to find Willy hidden in Ethel's bag. Pauline signs her consent forms in hospital in preparation for her hysterectomy. Kathy talks to Ian about Laurie and how he is misunderstood. Ian tells Simon he wants him to be his and Cindy's baby's godfather. The coach party arrive at their hotel in Clacton-on-Sea later than planned. Mo argues with a man who is rude to her. Ethel hides Willy after reading a sign saying no animals are allowed in the hotel. Marge meets a man at the hotel and heads off to dance with him. Dot and Mo watch them as they dance together. |
